Which is your favourite way of saving resources and building community? Freecycling? Freegle? Freeconomy? Freelender? LetsAllShare.com? Ecomodo? Streetbank?
"There's nothing I own that can't be borrowed or fractionally owned”(Paul Crosland, co-director, Freelending CIC). This blog aspires to be a top UK source for information on the developments/developers within the 'sharing & gift economics' sector. Add your experiences of going beyond consumerism here too.
Responding to a request to borrow the live-in vehicle "Anticipate Happiness" for a pilgrimage to Holy Island
Dear Ian (Copied to Steve and blind copied to Su, who has the other keys to the van -as an anniversary present)
Steve has initiated you into the way of the freelender and I wonder how the journey will change you?
I'd love it if you obtained a book on pilgrimage and shared it with me in some way eg YouTube -my channel is here (the book I nearly bought on Sunday about pilgrimage is this one by Rujumati - "Pilgrimage to Anywhere")
In fact I'd love to here more about the spirit in which you wish to borrow a van in order to go on the pilgrimage. Have you given much thought to freelending yet and what are you going to freelend to which strangers? How will you test your boundaries in doing this, whilst still being a responsible custodian?
When you rang, my woman and I were celebrating our anniversary by watching the film Shame -highly recommended and available from me and the Southwater Streetbank Depot.
My calendar for availability of the van is on my additionalinfo.blogspot.co.uk hub site, and the calendar is specifically at: http://additionalinfo.blogspot.co.uk/p/paul-croslands-calendar.html
Looking forward to hearing back from you and wishing you all the best with your dream cycle (Dream-Plan-Do-Review).
Any thoughts yet as to how you might raise the £1,000 deposit on the van (Anticipate Happiness)?; Steve had £800 I believe.
So far, from lending, we have got everything lent out back, or received compensation that satisfies. Lending has been a highly satisfying experience and a great way to meet people. Sometimes, Edmund and I have second thoughts about how ambitious our project is, so we are looking at developing the site to help people share more firstly with people they know. If you are part of any group, club or society, lets talk about how freelender.org can help that group to share more. Email us via the freelender.org contact page.
If someone wants to borrow something from you, what would be your preferred way of them contacting you to let you know?

How often do you imagine being comfortable with being asked to lend something?
Independent Candidate (2019-2029), promoting grassroots manifestoes (your 4-10 priority points) brought to form a convergent constituency manifesto.
Nationally I promote the Democratic Custom -no law change needed- "50 percent To Elect An MP" (& thus a "Deeper Legitimacy Parliament").
Locally I work on building non-monetary economic forms of rebuilding communiites.
Do you: -want anything? -know anybody who has anything they would share? -believe that if more took responsibility to share their stuff more, an even greater number would benefit?
If you register and offer an item or two, there's no obligation to lend anything and you may get an interesting email enquiry or two that may make all the difference.
Satisfaction of lenders currently 100%; items not returned as agreed: one Compensation was paid in full. www.freelender.org
